Our Story
At a remarkably young age, owning an excavating company was a lifelong goal of owner and operator, Gino Costello. While in school, he would eagerly assist local farmers, friends, and family with various dirt work side jobs, and quickly developed a passion for working with equipment and helping people.
Only 11 days after graduating high school, Gino went to his local county building and officially registered his new business under the name, “Xact Excavating.” From there, he set out to live the American dream fueled by ambition, determination, and a hunger to learn and succeed.

With the guidance and advice of a few close mentors within the industry, it didn’t take long for Gino’s business to start rapidly growing. Year after year, Xact Excavating continued to grow while adding more and more knowledgeable employees to its’ team.
In a momentous milestone in 2023, Gino built his dream shop and office space providing a permanent home to his business at 5295 W Butterfield Hwy in Olivet, Michigan. Today, his wife, Macy Costello, can be found managing affairs in the office, while a seasoned and dedicated team executes projects with precision and expertise out in the field.
