About S.M. Smith & Sons Established in 1982, S.M. Smith & Sons is a family owned and operated company. We are rooted in our dedicated work ethic, providing superior services through rock-solid customer relationships that help make provide assurance that our company is one that you are always able to rely on. Originally starting off as a small trucking company, the Smiths realized the opportunity that was coming with the growth of the Charlotte Metro area. They began planning for the future, diversifying services by expanding into land clearing, logging, and residential grading to provide services that business leaders and developers relied on to help build the future of the city. Meanwhile, the trucking business began to grow from a small grassroots operation into a larger company that clients could count on. Now, more than 30 years later, we’ve grown to a team of more than 100 people all coming together to play a part in bolstering the future of our beautiful state. Our equipment fleet of dump trucks, land clearing machines, and grading equipment provides our clients with the ideal tool for every job. The right equipment is only half of the magic; we provide safety and equipment training programs for each employee to ensure that every project is done the right way the first time through.
